If starting a family hasn’t been as straightforward as you hoped, you’re not alone. Fertility challenges are common, and recognising the possible causes can help guide the next steps in your journey.
Fewer sperm reduce the odds of fertilisation each cycle.
If sperm do not swim effectively, they may not reach the egg.
Irregularly shaped sperm may not fertilise an egg successfully.
Low testosterone or other hormone issues can reduce sperm production.
After 35, both egg quality and quantity decrease, making pregnancy less likely.
PCOS or hormonal imbalances can make cycles unpredictable and conception more difficult.
Endometriosis, past infections, or surgery can prevent sperm and egg from meeting.
Fibroids or polyps may stop a fertilised egg from implanting.
Once we identify the cause of your fertility challenges, we’ll guide you toward the right treatment.
IVF is one of the most effective treatments for couples facing infertility. It’s often recommended when natural conception, medications, or simpler procedures have not been successful.
Egg freezing gives women the option to preserve their fertility for the future, whether due to personal or medical reasons. This allows the chance of pregnancy later in life when egg quality and quantity naturally declines.
IUI is a less invasive fertility treatment often used as a first step before IVF. It is especially helpful when sperm motility is poor or when assisted ovulation is required.

If you have been trying to conceive for over 12 months (or 6 months if you are over 35 years of age) without success, or if you have experienced recurrent miscarriages, it is time to see a fertility specialist.
IUI is less invasive and more affordable. It involves the placement of sperm into the uterus at ovulation. IVF involves retrieving eggs from ovaries, fertilising them with sperm to form embryos, and transferring these embryos into the uterus. At Daniel Koh Clinic we will guide you and your partner to make an informed decision.
Private IVF typically costs $20,000 to $35,000 (excl. GST). MediSave can be used to offset part of the cost.
Each cycle is around $10,000 to $15,000 (excl. GST). Some women may choose to undergo more than one cycle so as to store enough eggs.
Both IVF treatment and egg freezing are widely used and closely regulated. The most complaints include sensation of bloatedness and mood changes. These are usually self-limiting and will resolve spontaneously.
No fertility treatment can guarantee pregnancy. Freezing eggs earlier generally improves the chances of success later.
Yes, most patients undergoing treatment can continue daily activities. We advise avoiding strenuous exercise during IVF.
Coverage will depend on your policy. We can assist you on how to find out on your coverage and how to utilise MediSave for your IUI and/or IVF treatment in Singapore.
